Carnival Dance + Art App
Our web app celebrates and engages movement and dance in and from Black and Caribbean communities and creates visual art. We wine, gyrate, jump and wave, chip, and more in Carnival and other celebrations. This web app, employs PoseNet. Pose estimation (Pose Net) uses computer vision techniques – a machine learning model – to estimate and track human poses. You can create visual artworks of your movements. Put on your music! Dance! Make Art! and share!
Our carnival art app was conceived and designed by Valencia James with contributions by the rest of the team, and developed by Stacy Lafume. It is inspired by the PoseNet Sketchbook created by Maya Man for her collaboration with choreographer, Bill T. Jones at Google Creative Lab.
